April 17, 2026 - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Community Services (OCS), Division of Energy Assistance (DEA) has announced the release of the remaining 10 percent of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funds. This announcement includes approximately $421.5 million of federal Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) regular block grant funding to LIHEAP grant recipients. This funding is provided under the Continuing Appropriations, agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026,(H.R. 5371). Additional funding is being released from the Consolidated appropriations Act, 2026, (H.R. 7148).
